BEIRUT — A bomb has exploded outside a mosque in the Syrian capital, causing casualties, state-run Syrian TV reported.
The station says the bomb went off in the northern neighborhood of Rukneddine as worshippers were leaving the mosque after the Friday prayers.
The station gave no further details, but a Syrian official told The Associated Press that at least 10 people were wounded, some seriously. The official spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
The Syrian capital has been hit by a string of explosions since the uprising against President Bashar Assad began in March last year. Activists say more than 23,000 people have been killed in the conflict.
