The mysterious assassination of a prominent radical Muslim cleric in Kenya last week sparked ethnic violence that has so far left more than 50 people dead. But this amounts to a minor squabble, and does not change Kenya’s standing as one of the West’s most stable allies in the fight against jihadists in the Horn of Africa. And with the construction of a $23 billion road system, Kenya is fast on its way to economic prosperity. The only thing that could stop it is a bout of popular discontent following the next election.
