Turning Point USA was banned from receiving any school money by the Budget and Finance Committee until 2019, reports Branding Iron, the university's student-run newspaper.
The group also was suspended for hosting Prager's address, titled "Socialism Makes People Selfish," without sticking to several campus regulations.
Officials cited inappropriate use of funds and violations of school policy for failing to properly identify and label posters as being approved by the Campus Activities Center.
They said the group also failed to use a designated UW Event Ticketing entity for entrance and provided food unauthorized by UW Risk Management.
"I think the question these students clearly need to ask themselves is, 'Was Prager's visit, was the ensuing mess worth it?'" student Frank Lee told the newspaper. "Somebody could have done so much good with $10,000 so it's a shame to see students and student fees get used to promote Prager who will only profit on our backs."
About 600 students attended the speech by Prager, who hosts a nationally syndicated radio talk show, writes books, gives lectures and is known for his controversial stances.
Last July, Prager tweeted:
