White House visitors no longer have to have their temperatures checked before stepping foot inside, NBC News reports.

NBC News reporter Monica Alba tweeted that temperature screening stations set up in tents at White House entrances were being taken down Monday.

White House campus spokesman Judd Deere announced Monday that mandatory temperature checks for all staffers and visitors entering the grounds will no longer be required unless they are meeting with the president or vice president.

“In conjunction with Washington, D.C. entering Phase Two today, the White House is scaling back complex-wide temperature checks,” Deere said in a statement. “In addition to social distancing, hand sanitizer, regular deep cleaning of all work spaces, and voluntary facial coverings, every staff member and guest in close proximity to the president and vice president is still being temperature checked, asked symptom histories, and tested for COVID-19.”

The White House already announced West Wing staffers would not be required to wear masks. Last week, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said masks were "recommended but not required."
