Spanish language television networks Telemundo and Univision, responding to a report by the Media Research Center, said they don't have a liberal bias.

Camilo Pino, a spokesman for Telemundo, said his network strives to be "transparent, impartial and factual" in its coverage, Politico reported.

Jose Zamora, a spokesman for Univision, told Politico the network has "an open invitation to elected officials and representatives from all sides to address our community on issues of importance and relevance."

The Media Research Center criticized the networks for their coverage of the Affordable Care Act, saying Univision and Telemundo "featured liberal advocates of Obamacare over the law’s conservative opponents by a margin of nearly 5-to-1."

Zamora said, "Hispanics are one of the largest uninsured demographics" in the country, and the network's coverage was meant as a public service rather than a pro-administration stance.

Univision has been campaigning for Latinos to register for Obamacare, BuzzFeed reported.

Hispanic media specialist Gabriela Domenzain, who has worked with the Obama campaign, told Politico that conservatives tended not to make themselves available for Spanish-language news outlets.

Meanwhile, Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, told Politico he hoped to meet with Univision and Telemundo executives to discuss the study.
