Target is giving all its hourly workers a $500 bonus following a "year unlike any other" in which they were called on to be frontline workers in the coronavirus pandemic, the company announced.
Store directors, executive team leaders, and salaried distribution center leaders will receive bonuses ranging from $1,000 to $2,000, the company added in a press release.
"This is the fifth time Target recognized team members with bonuses for going above and beyond during the pandemic, and that's on top of our move to a $15 industry-leading starting wage for U.S-based team members, paid leaves, coronavirus benefits, and a donation to the Target Team Member Giving Fund," the press release read. "That brings our investment in team members' health, safety, and well-being to $1 billion more in 2020 compared to 2019."
The company said it will also waive its absenteeism policy for coronavirus-related illness and provide free access to healthcare through virtual doctor visits for all team members, among other benefits.
