artin Anderson, a top policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan and author of several books about his life and legacy, has died. He was 78.
The Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where Anderson had been a senior fellow since 1971, confirms Anderson died Jan. 3 at his home in Portola Valley.
Anderson combined an academic and writing career with work in the political campaigns and presidential administrations of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. He also served in the administrations of Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush.
Nancy Reagan says Anderson along with his wife, Annelise, "authored some of the best books that have been written on the Reagan presidency."
Anderson's final book titled "Ronald Reagan: Decisions of Greatness" will be published by the Hoover Institution Press in February.
