The Navy is confirming that 416 crew members from the USS Theodore Roosevelt have now tested positive for the coronavirus.

The number represents an increase of 130 people in just one day, CBS News reported. There are still 1,164 pending coronavirus tests.

The aircraft carrier is currently docked in Guam.

"As testing continues, the ship will keep enough sailors on board to sustain essential services and sanitize the ship in port. There have been zero hospitalizations," the Navy had said on Wednesday.

The following day, one sailor was transferred to a hospital and put in intensive care, the Navy said.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported earlier this week that about 2,000 of the almost 5,000 sailors on the ship have been moved ashore. Others have been ordered to maintain and disinfect the carrier despite lacking even minimal personal protection equipment.

Some were reportedly using T-shirts as homemade masks while cleaning the ship.

The Navy removed Captain Brett Crozier as commander of the carrier after he wrote a scathing letter urging it do more to halt the spread of the potentially lethal virus aboard the carrier.
