A Joe Biden administration wouldn't just stop construction on the border wall, but it would provide amnesty to millions of people, and the cartels and human smugglers are hearing the upcoming border strategy "loud and clear," acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan said Wednesday.
"With a change in administration our borders are going to be wide open and it is absolutely increasing illegal migration," said Morgan on Fox News' "Fox & Friends." "Joe Biden had said he will not build another foot of wall. That is very disturbing. Look, they have that — they can do that. It's called termination for convenience. They can terminate the contract for building the wall."
He added that the Trump administration will need to settle an agreement with contractors for what has already been done.
"For materials, there are 270,000 tons of steel that have already been paid for that we're going to have to reimburse, just to walk away from," said Morgan. "That's unconscionable to me."
The Biden administration will also cancel the technology that's been developed that is a "game-changer for securing our borders," warned Morgan.
Further, much that has been done about the border came through executive orders from Trump, as Congress would not approve his plans, and Biden could undo all of them on Jan. 21, said Morgan.
If that happens, Morgan said there will be another crisis at the border.
"It will pale in comparison to what we saw last year," Morgan said.
