Jimmy Carter’s grandson, Jason, who's campaigning to be the Democratic
candidate for governor in Georgia, tweeted a picture Wednesday of the 89-year-old's first text promoting his Tuesday night appearance on "The Colbert Report" — and proudly declared his granddad had gone from "ex-president to text-president."
The 39th president has been promoting his new book,
"A Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence and Power."
On Sunday, Carter said
in an interview on "Meet the Press"
that he only writes or types letters to foreign leaders to avoid having his emails monitored by the National Security Agency.
Gen. Keith Alexander, the outgoing director of the NSA, later told
Fox News the agency doesn’t monitor Carter's emails — or those of any other official.
