Jake Tapper Trashes 'Anti-Semitic' CNN Headline

CNN anchor Jake Tapper ripped into the cable news network for displaying an "abhorrent" headline during his show that read: "Alt-right founder questions if Jews are people."

The headline — posted during a segment on "The Lead" about white nationalist groups supporting Donald Trump — was seen by many viewers as a normalization of the hate-speech rhetoric spouted by white nationalist groups.

Tapper, barraged with comments from angry viewers on Twitter, responded:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CNN's headline appeared to be based on a remark by one alt-right leader, who reportedly said: "One wonders if these people are people at all, or instead soulless golem."
