Mike Huckabee believes Bruce Springsteen should meet with factory workers whose lives have been severely affected by the nation's job losses to outsourcing.

Writing on his Facebook page on Wednesday, the former Arkansas governor says the rock superstar has chronicled the plight of America's blue-collar workers in his music — and maybe it's time for him to revisit.

"Maybe Bruce needs to sit down and have a long talk with the Ohio factory workers who inspired his song 'Youngstown,' about how hard the workin' man's life is in these outsourced-jobs times, and ask why so many of them voted for Trump," Huckabee said.

In that poignant song, "The Boss" laments in the voice of a steel-worker, "The story's always the same 700 tons of metal a day. Now sir you tell me the world's changed. Once I made you rich enough, rich enough to forget my name."

President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to bring outsourced jobs back to the United States through taxation and providing incentives to American companies to create jobs here.

Last September, Springsteen labeled Trump a "moron" and pledged his support of Democrat Hillary Clinton, who then lost in the Nov. 8 presidential election.

"Well, you know, the republic is under siege by a moron, basically," he said of Trump. "The whole thing is tragic. Without overstating it, it's a tragedy for our democracy."
