Sen.
Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., says the growing number of states that allow gay marriage is making the Clinton-era Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) obsolete, according to
Politico.

"As time goes on, what I find is more and more people have gay friends — they have gay relatives — people are much more forward with their thinking about this now,” Feinstein said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think they're much more open to it. The polls are showing a change in attitude.”
Feinstein is pushing the Respect for Marriage Act that would repeal DOMA and confer federal marriage benefits to same-sex marriages in states that allow it.
