Ronan Farrow to Host New MSNBC Program

Ronan Farrow to Host New MSNBC Program

By    |   Thursday, 17 October 2013 01:32 PM EDT

Ronan Farrow, the son of actress Mia Farrow and director Woody Allen, has signed on with MSNBC to host a new cable news program, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The one-hour program is still in development but is expected to launch early next year.
"Ronan has established himself as a provocative, independent journalist capable of challenging people’s assumptions and empowering audiences," said MSNBC President Phil Griffin.

"His show will be a game changer for MSNBC, representing a fresh approach to how we deliver news. Ronan has packed more experience into his 25 years of life than most people have in a lifetime."

"This is a new generation of news show for a new, more engaged generation of viewers," Farrow said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"It’s a show about why the news matters to you — and what you can do to be a part of the story. I’m excited to shake up people’s expectations for cable news. And to get a ton of Twitter followers."

Farrow, 25, is a graduate of Bard College and Yale Law School. He was an adviser to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on global youth issues and served as spokesman for UNICEF. Although he has no television credentials, he has written about human rights and foreign policy for the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal, among other publications.

Farrow was recently in the public spotlight after his mother suggested in a Vanity Fair interview that his father could "possibly" be her former husband, Frank Sinatra, not Woody Allen.
