Lead singer of the band Creed allegedly alarmed his family when he had a psychological breakdown and threatened to assassinate President Barack Obama.
The sister-in-law and wife of Scott Stapp called 911 in November, saying that he had checked himself out of a mental facility prematurely where he was being treated for a drug addiction,
Fox News is reporting.
She told the dispatcher that he was riding around his Florida neighborhood on a bicycle without a shirt, saying he was a CIA officer who was planning to assassinate Obama.
Stapp's wife, Jaclyn, joined the 911 call at some point and said that he had printed out hundreds of pages of CIA documents, put them in a backpack before taking off on his bike.
"He thinks he is part of the CIA," she said during the 911 call. "He has a bunch of paperwork in his backpack that he is a CIA agent and he was supposed to assassinate Obama," adding that "he thinks he is being trained by the CIA."
They asked that the dispatcher send out police officers to take Stapp back to the mental hospital.
Stapp placed his own call while officers were being sent out, explaining that the reason he was on his bike was because his wife had allegedly stolen his truck.
When talking to the police once they arrived, he further said that his wife had taken $6 million from him.
She was able to have him arrested but not taken back to the mental hospital.
According to TMZ, Jaclyn is trying to have Stapp legally put in a 60-day psych, alleging he is extensively addicted to several drugs.
According to Fox News, Jaclyn filed for divorce in November. She says that Stapp is out of money because he has spent it all on drugs.
