CNN May Revive 'Crossfire'

By    |   Monday, 08 April 2013 11:27 AM EDT

CNN is reportedly considering a revival of its once popular political debate show, "Crossfire," that ran from 1982 to 2005.

Although the network has not released any details about when the program would air or who would host it, TVNewser reported that it was expected to return in a 30-minute, rather than its old hour-long format, and would showcase a number of contributors from across the political spectrum.

Crossfire was cancelled in January 2005, not long after Comedy Central's "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart criticized the program during an appearance for being too partisan, saying that it was "hurting America."
