Rand Paul on Bridge-gate: 'I Know How Angry I Am' in Traffic

By    |   Friday, 10 January 2014 10:51 AM EST

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky said that he doesn't know who did what in the bridge-gate scandal in New Jersey, which caused massive gridlock on the George Washington Bridge in September, but said that he gets angry when he's in traffic.

"I don't know who emailed who and who works for whom," Paul said, NBC News reports.

"I have been in traffic before, though, and I know how angry I am when I'm in traffic, and I've always wondered, 'Who did this to me?'" the Kentucky Republican said.

Paul's comments will be seen as a dig at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, said The Hill. The Kentucky senator sparred with Christie in July when New Jersey Republicans said that libertarians in the GOP held an ideology that could have a "dangerous" effect on foreign policy.

Paul and Christie are considered top GOP contenders for president in 2016.
