Herman Cain’s TV Network Makes its Debut on Web

With everything from cartoons to commentary, former Republican  presidential candidate Herman Cain launch his latest venture, a TV-style network on the Web on Independence Day.

Cain’s network, which can be found at CainTV.com, describes itself as “a bold solution to the rampant ignorance being thrust upon the people of this nation by lazy and blatantly biased news media outlets.”

The network features a range of programs about politics, economics, border control and street smarts that promise to be "real American."

“We Are Not Stupid” is a video series of Cain discussing various topics. One of his critiques, in an episode called, “Give a Lamb a Gun,” is directed at President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder and the “Fast and Furious” scandal. “They say they are unaware. Do they really think we are that stupid?” He ends the bit with the line, “I’m Herman Cain and we are not stupid.”

In the first episode on the “Good News News” channel, Cain talks about when he beat cancer and the importance of maintaining a positive attitude, citing statistics tying attitude and survival rates.

“God bless you, and thank you for your positive and inspiring message,” one commenter wrote.

A show called “Borderland” by filmmaker Rusty Fleming shows, according to the site, “a human perspective of what it's like living on our southern border, in both the United States and Mexico. With interviews, re-enactments and incredible actual footage from both sides of the border, this series shows us in grave detail, the real fear and violence the mainstream media doesn’t want you to see.”

In the first episode, “Borderland” shows images from the border war with a narrated overview and introduction of the show. The show will explore the “real issues associated with what our own Department of Justice has termed to be the greatest threat to our national security,” Fleming says in the video.

Tex the T. Rex is a cartoon about a dinosaur born from a red, white and blue egg, who starts his journey across America with a visit to Plymouth Rock.

Another show, "Street Smarts with Lewis Brown" looks at politics from the perspective of an everyday person. One video features a man who introduces himself as Lou from Hollywood, who gives his take on the struggle between Israel and its neighbors, saying that they’re not fighting over land in the Gaza Strip but instead they’re “fighting over who’s God’s favorite, because they’re brothers.”

The first episode of a short video animated series called "Family Pants" looks at the effect of high taxes and regulation.

The site also features several blogs with topics ranging from cooking to immigration to tax reform.

Cain, 66, whose career has taken him to jobs as a lobbyist, chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and chief executive of Godfather's Pizza restaurants , ran for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination but suspended his campaign in December last year when he was accused of sexual harassment.

Cain remains a favorite of some conservatives who like his off-the-cuff style and policies seeking to reduce government and put power in the hands of people. His most famous plan was his "9-9-9" program to significantly change the U.S. tax code.
