Corrupt former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich plans to teach fellow prisoners Shakespeare and Greek mythology, according to a new report.
But for now he is washing pots in the kitchen of Colorado’s Englewood Federal Correctional Center where he is five and a half weeks into his 14-year sentence.
The disgraced Democrat told lawyers Sam Adam Sr. and his son Sam Adam Jr. of his plans during their 90-minute weekend visit to the prison near Littleton, Colo.,
Fox Chicago News reported.
"All things considered, he looked good, he's still got a headful of hair, it's gone from black to brown, not gray, as everyone predicted," Sam Jr. said.
His father added, “He's got a nice sun tan. You could see he's building himself up, doing more with the weightlifting. I would say he's gained a little weight but it's all muscle, he's just in great shape. And the most important thing I could stress is his mental attitude, it is just so great."
The Adams were told all prisoners have to spend their first 90 days in the prison kitchen, but then the governor who tried to sell President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat will turn to teaching. “Let's put it this way,” said Sam Sr. “He is so affable, you forget how educated and well-read he is. He knows a great deal about Shakespeare."
