"Birther" proponent Sheriff Joe Arpaio reportedly is prepared to unveil the "newest revelations" about his investigation into President Barack Obama's birth certificate.
An ABC TV affiliate reported the 84-year-old Maricopa County sheriff will present the findings Thursday in Phoenix, where he will appear with the chief investigator, Mike Zullo.
President-elect Donald Trump backed away from the issue in September of this year when he admitted Obama was born in the United States.
LawNewz.com noted Arpaio has regularly clashed with federal authorities in recent years over his immigration patrols, and faces criminal contempt charges for allegedly ignoring federal court orders regarding the practices of his department.
ABC News reported federal prosecutors have dropped felony charges, however, related to his refusal to turnover hard drives.
Last month, Arpaio lost his re-election bid to Democratic challenger Paul Penzone.
