Ben Carson To Meet With Herman Cain

By    |   Saturday, 13 April 2013 07:13 PM EDT

The world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon Benjamin Carson will meet with former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain on Monday in Washington.

Carson, who attacked President Barack Obama’s policies on healthcare and taxes in a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in February, will be among 10 prominent African-American conservatives meeting with Cain, The Daily Caller reports.

Cain, former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, will hold the session at the Willard Hotel.

Others expected to attend are Ken Blackwell, the former mayor of Cincinnati and Ohio secretary of state, and Alveda King, a Newsmax contributor and niece of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Carson, the director of pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital, has become a favorite of Republicans and conservatives after several high-profile public appearances, The Daily Caller reports.

Last week, Carson withdrew as the commencement speaker for the Johns Hopkins medical school after protests over his comments about gay marriage.
