Amazon has removed a children’s T-shirt being sold by a third-party seller with an image of police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling on George Floyd’s neck, reports BBC.
Chauvin, who is white, was fired from the Minneapolis Police Department and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter after he knelt on Floyd’s neck for almost nine minutes during an arrest two weeks ago, killing him.Floyd was a black man.
The item was being targeted at supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement.
"All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action including potential removal of their account,” an Amazon spokesperson told BBC.
"The product in question is no longer available."
Similar images on other items, including T-shirts and baseball caps, can still be found on Amazon’s U.S. site.
Floyd’s death has sparked protests around the world and led to calls for police reform.
