Stephen Colbert took several shots at President Donald Trump during a CBS event for advertisers Wednesday.
The host of "The Late Show" regularly trashes the president during his opening monologues every night. According to Entertainment Weekly, he continued the onslaught during the CBS upfront, an event that previews the fall line-up.
"It's a great year for 'The Late Show,' and I could not have done it without a visionary leader, a legend of television, who made 'The Late Show' what it is — thank you, Donald Trump," Colbert said.
"It's an honor to be on stage every night talking about that day's Trump scandal. Unfortunately, the hour I spend on stage means I'm often missing the breaking news of tomorrow's Trump scandal. So by the time a monologue airs I can sound as out of touch as White House as [press secretary] Sean Spicer does."
Colbert also took shots at Trump regarding his loss to Democrat Hillary Clinton in the presidential election's popular vote and his alleged relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The comedian who began hosting the late-night show in September 2015 got himself in hot water earlier this month when he made a derogatory remark toward Trump that some said was homophobic.
