Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., jabbed Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for her appearance on "60 Minutes."

The Hill noted DeVos struggled at times to answer questions about education policy and schools.

Lieu made his remarks in a Twitter posting on Monday morning

"Betsy DeVos wasn't asked what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow," he said. "She was asked basic questions about education and had trouble answering them.

"Also, saying that we shouldn't invest in school buildings is stupid. Dilapidated and unsafe buildings affect learning."

According to the Hill, DeVos, who has pushed for policies allowing students to leave public schools and take public funding to religious or charter schools, had difficulties discussing the issue during the interview.
