US Missile Defense Test Fails Over Pacific

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A test of the sole U.S. defense against long-range ballistic missiles failed on Wednesday, the second in a row involving the system managed by Boeing Co, the Defense Department said.

Officials will investigate the cause of the failure to intercept the target missile over the Pacific Ocean, said Richard Lehner, a spokesman for the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency.
