A Twitter data breach has allowed a hacker to get access to the personal information of 5.4 million users, the social media company has confirmed.

A security vulnerability allowed the data to be extracted, Restore Privacy reported.

The data, including phone numbers and email addresses, has been offered for sale on a hacking forum for $30,000, Restore Privacy said.

Twitter has since patched the vulnerability, which was reported in January, Restore Privacy reported.

The outlet added that the bug was specific to Twitter's Android client and occurred with the social media platform's authorization process.

9to5mac reported there currently was no way for Twitter users to find out if they were affected by the data breach.
