Transportation Security Administration agents at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Monday morning found a missile launcher in a Texas man’s luggage.
“@TSA officers at @BWI_Airport detected this missile launcher in a checked bag early this morning,” TSA Public Affairs spokesperson Lisa Farbstein said in a tweet. “Man said he was bringing it back from Kuwait as a souvenir. Perhaps he should have picked up a keychain instead!”
TSA said the man told police during questioning that he was traveling home from U.S. military duty in Kuwait where he picked up the missile launcher. The weapon was confiscated and turned over to the Maryland fire marshal for disposal.
Military weapons are not permitted in checked or carry-on bags.
