Former Rep. Tom DeLay has come out swinging at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's new jab at Republicans following the GOP's
big congressional victory in Florida, which many see as a slap at the Affordable Care Act.
Pelosi said she believes Republicans are
"wasting their time" if they use the Affordable Care Act as a campaign issue "and they will find that out."
"That's as stupid as when she said we got to pass [the Affordable Care Act] before we can see what's in it. I mean … nobody believes that," DeLay, who served in Congress as a Texas Republican, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.
"The elections have already been set unless the Republicans screw up — and the Democrats continue to help."

Republican newcomer David Jolly beat well-known Democrat Alex Sink in a special election for Florida’s 13th District on Tuesday — 48.5 percent to 46.6 percent.
"The national media and Nancy Pelosi are trying to convince the American people, 'this doesn't mean anything.' This is a huge signal of what's to come in the midterm elections '' DeLay said.
"Every week something new comes out with this Obamacare and the disaster it is, the disaster of the roll out, the fact that the government, the Obama administration can't even implement it.
"It just shows you that when you do something that violates the Constitution, these are the consequences."
DeLay said he has "no confidence" in the efforts of President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry to put an end to Russia's military aggression in Ukraine.
"They have no sense of history, they don't know who makes up the opposition or those that took over the government in Ukraine and they're not telling the American people the truth," he said.
"This is just dangerous and crazy … We have a treaty with Ukraine in 1994 that basically says we will be their ally and protect them when they're attacked, which puts us in a particular box because our word needs to be good and solid.
"And so now what do we do? Especially in light of the fact that nobody in the entire world, no country in the entire world respects us and certainly don't respect the president or the secretary of state. It's a mess, it's a holy mess."
DeLay is disappointed in Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina who he believes is supporting "everything the Obama administration is doing" including the bail out of Ukraine and sending military equipment.
"He and [Sen.] John McCain [of [Arizona] once again, they think they're the foreign ministers of the United States. They're out there with their necks stuck way out about what we should be doing in Ukraine," DeLay said.
"[Graham] needs John Kerry as his buddy right now for two reasons. One, he's running for re-election in South Carolina and I hear he's having a little problem down there. Two, I guess he thinks he's real close buddies with John Boehner, Speaker of the House. It's typical.
"And, once again, he's going against what the other Republicans in the Senate think should be done. It's a real mess."
