Radio’s defenders used to have an easy counter for the medium’s skeptics: They’d simply cite the fact that hundreds of millions listen each week, then ask: What other medium enjoys that sort of reach? The answer, of course, was crickets.

Today, that has changed, however. In May 2018 YouTube revealed it has 1.8 billion users each month. Facebook had nearly 2.23 active users a month in the second quarter of the current year, according to Statista.com.
