A Pennsylvania couple whose daughter and son-in-law were kidnapped by the Taliban four years ago are pleading with the terror group to let them go free.

The emotional pitch also includes the two young sons of Caitlan and Joshua Boyle, both of whom Caitlin gave birth to in captivity.

In a short video released this week, James and Lyn Coleman sit side by side as James tells Taliban leader:

"We desperately want to be with and hold our daughter and grandsons, whom we long to meet and care for … Show mercy … Please allow Caity and her family to come home."

The Guardian reports that the message was released just prior to next week's Muslim festival of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, a traditional time of mercy.

The Boyles disappeared four years ago as they backpacked in Afghanistan while Caitlin was pregnant. She gave birth to one son. Last November, the Colemans received a letter that a second son had been born.

The captured couple were last seen in a video emailed to her parents in 2013, in which they asked the federal government and their families to help them get released.
