Washington, D.C. is the worst-run city in the United States, according to a survey from personal finance website WalletHub.
The survey compared each city's budget with a "quality of services" score, and the top 10 worst-run cities are:
- Washington, D.C.
- Detroit, Michigan.
- New York City, N.Y.
- San Francisco, Calif.
- Gulfport, Miss.
- Oakland, Calif.
- Chattanooga, Tenn.
- Flint, Mich.
- Cleveland, Ohio
- Hartford, Conn.
Detroit placed last in the WalletHub rankings for financial stability and overall economy and St. Louis, Missouri, placed lowest in terms of safety.
Cities in California — Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Fremont, Oakland, and San Francisco —were all tied for the worst streets in the U.S., according to the survey.
The dirtiest air is also found in California, with Huntington Beach, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Bakersfield, and Riverside having the worst in America.
Meanwhile, the best-run cities in the U.S. are Nampa, Idaho, Provo, Utah, and Boise, Idaho.
