Half of voters say Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server was illegal — and just 20 percent believe the practice was ethical, a new poll shows.
The Morning Consult survey released Wednesday also finds that 48 percent of voters see the Democratic presidential front-runner's email use while she served as secretary of state as a "major problem" — including a quarter of voters in her own party — while 24 percent see it as a minor issue and 18 percent see it as no problem at all.
The poll finds 27 percent of voters are unsure if the practice was legal or not, while 22 percent think it was legal.
The findings come in the wake of the
State Department's Office of Inspector General report that found Clinton had not complied with its records-keeping procedures.
Clinton has denied any wrongdoing.
The survey's margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
