Businesses reopening amid the COVID-19 pandemic are installing thermal-camera security systems to monitor the health of customers and employees — a tactic some believe smacks of Big Brother.

The sophisticated devices include cameras that record temperatures, facial-recognition monitors that can identify the sick, and distance meters that monitor a space to ensure people stay six feet apart.
