Fox Sports has rejected a Super Bowl ad for a building-supply company for being "too political," CampaignLive.com reports.
84 Lumber, a first-time Super Bowl advertiser, had planned a 90-second spot which depicted a wall blocking people looking for work in the United States.
But Fox executives rejected the script as "too political" with its similarities to President-elect Donald Trump's plan to build a 10-foot-high wall at the U.S.-Mexico border, the website said.
Sources told CampaignLive.com that the wall image may be removed from the ad to fall in line with Fox's standards. 84 Lumber's director of marketing, Amy Smiley, declined to comment to the website.
Fortune Magazine reports that Fox is asking for $5 million to $5.5 million per 30-second ad this year — double the price of an ad during the 2010 Super Bowl.
