Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., will be a guest on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show Monday night, two days after coining a healthcare requirement after the late-night host.
Moved by Kimmel's monologue last week when he announced his newborn son was born with a heart defect, Cassidy said a "Kimmel test" should be applied to the healthcare bill passed by House Republicans last week regarding pre-existing conditions.
Cassidy has used the hashtag #KimmelTest in several tweets since then.
Kimmel used his monologue to bring up the pitfalls of preexisting conditions that was passed as part of the American Health Care Act passed last week, saying he could afford the healthcare costs, but the bill that was passed could be harmful to other newborns not as fortunate.
Cassidy figures to be a major player as the Senate tackles the bill passed by the House, though the upper chamber is expected to craft its own healthcare legislation.
The Louisiana senator is part of the lineup that includes actor Zach Galifianakis on Kimmel's first show since taking paternity leave.
