Meghan McCain came to the defense of former White House press secretary Sean Spicer after he made his debut on "Dancing With the Stars" wearing a ruffly, lime green shirt.
The morning after Spicer danced with partner Lindsay Arnold, McCain and her co-hosts on "The View" discussed Spicer's moves — and outfit — Tuesday morning.
"If he was dancing at a wedding, we'd all be impressed," McCain said. "Like, if he was at a wedding or a Bar Mitzvah, you'd be like, 'That guy can move.'
"He has children who are adopted, he's a really decent man, he used to dress up like the Easter bunny at the Easter egg roll. He's got a really good heart ... He used to be really well-respected.
"Why I'm not mad at this is because he's got kids to put through college, he's got to pay his bills one way or the other and if you've got to dance in a lime green shirt entertaining me when I have nothing else to do at night, then I'm not that mad at it. And many politicians have done it before."
The other hosts on the show were not as supportive of Spicer, with Sunny Hostin saying she's still not over Spicer "repeatedly lying" as President Donald Trump's spokesman.
"I don't want to see him with the lime green shirt doing this. I don't want to see it. I have no interest in it," Hostin said.
Abby Huntsman said, "He looks like he's having fun, so kudos to him. Enjoy your life. But life after Trump is hard. It's a reality show presidency — but then where do you go after that? He did write a book, and then you go on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but then what? Then what is next? I don't know that you're ever get back to the place you were before Trump. I think he would like to be taken seriously."
