Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh isn't interested in
Sen. Ted Cruz's suggestion that he should be one of the moderators of a GOP presidential debate – he wants to moderate the Democrats.
When a caller brought up Cruz's suggestion on Monday's show,
Limbaugh said a better idea was to turn the tables.
"I think if I moderate a debate, it ought to be a Democrat debate," he said, suggesting that since Republican debates have been moderated mostly by liberals, he ought to grill the other side.
"I mean, if you're gonna even this out and we're gonna make this fair, you let me moderate the next debate with Hillary and the socialist and the abs," he said, a reference to front-runner Hillary Clinton, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who calls himself a "democratic socialist," and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, who is far behind in the polls, but
way ahead in admiration of his shirtless photos.
CNBC's debate last week angered candidates and pundits alike, and 11 of the campaigns agreed on Sunday to renegotiate the debate terms with networks themselves and cut out the Republican National Committee.
