President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani may soon face the wrath of Democrats on Capitol Hill as they contemplate investigating him for work he has done overseas.
According to The Daily Beast, the focus of such a probe could revolve around foreign political consulting work Giuliani has performed while he has worked for Trump and whether it interfered with America's political efforts.
Giuliani also has been investigating accusations that former Vice President Joe Biden, now the leading Democratic candidate for president, may have improperly meddled in a case involving his son Hunter while Biden was in office during the Obama administration.
In addition, Giuliani has vowed to probe the beginnings of the Russia investigation, which he said has roots in Ukraine. He canceled a high-profile trip he had planned to the eastern European nation after Democrats and Republicans expressed concern over such a visit.
The former mayor of New York City told The Daily Beast, however, that he would welcome any investigation into what he's been up to.
"If they want to come after me, I gladly accept it, because we could just make the Biden stuff bigger news," Giuliani said. "Do it! Give me a chance to give a couple speeches about it and hold a press conference. I'd love that … I think it'd be a fun fight. I'll just compare it to all the things they're not investigating … If they want, we can have a big fight over this."
Giuliani added that there's "nothing illegal or unethical about" foreign trips or consulting work he's done during Trump's time in office.
House Democrats already are investigating Trump and his administration on several fronts, including the Russia investigation and whether Trump obstructed justice.
