Don't expect Hillary Clinton to face corruption charges once Donald Trump becomes president, veteran journalist and White House insider Ronald Kessler tells Newsmax TV.
"I think she's just going to enjoy life and there will not be any prosecutions," Kessler, author of "The First Family Detail," said Wednesday to Steve Malzberg on "America Talks Live."
"There really was a valid reason why [FBI Director] Jim Comey made his decision about not prosecuting.
"You have to look at the law and the precedence, the cases.
"And based on that, there was not enough evidence of criminal intent as there was with [former CIA director David] Petraeus, who besides being charged with careless negligent handling of classified [information] was also charged with lying to the FBI."
During the raucous 2016 presidential campaign Trump, now president-elect, told supporters he would put Clinton in jail for corruption when he assumed office. But on Wednesday, he said the nation owed her "a major debt of gratitude."
