Robert O'Neill, the former Navy SEAL who says he fired the bullet that killed Osama bin Laden, says the United States should not send in a SEAL team to kill "Jihadi John," but should bomb him instead.
Appearing Monday on CNN's
"Erin Burnett OutFront," O'Neill said he would "try to get something in place and hit him with as many bombs as I could."
"Jihadi John," who is seen in Islamic State (ISIS) videos beheading Americans and Brits, including American journalist James Foley, was
identified last week as Kuwaiti-born British citizen Mohammed Emwazi.
But despite Emwazi's notoriety, O'Neill said he doesn’t have Tier 1 status as a target.
"I don't think he's worth an American life," O'Neill said. "We need to get the intelligence we can and hit him with an airstrike."
