With strong backing making for quickly called races, Sens. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Tim Scott, R-S.C., and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., were among the first victories called by DecisionDeskHQ on Tuesday night.
Paul's victory was not in question, but he has promised to fully investigate the COVID-19 response and origins, including Dr. Anthony Fauci if the GOP retake control of the Senate. Paul would take a Senate Health Services gavel to lead those potential investigations.
Scott, the lone Black Republican in the Senate, was never in doubt, while Greene has been a firebrand in Georgia and frequently used by Democrats in midterm messaging for the importance to secure control of the House, because she might be a candidate to lead a committee.
There are 35 Senate seats up for grabs in Tuesday night's elections.
