Q-Poll: Biden Holds Double-Digit Lead in Texas

Former Vice President Joe Biden continues to lead the list of 2020 Democratic hopefuls in Texas, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren has moved up to second place, a new Quinnipiac University poll reveals.

A June poll had former Rep. Beto O’Rourke of Texas in second and Warren in fourth place, behind Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Biden was in the lead in the June poll, as well.

Here is how the latest poll breaks down:

  • 28% of Democratic voters and independent voters who lean Democratic favor Biden.
  • 18% support Warren of Massachusetts.
  • 12% back Sanders
  • 12% favor O’Rourke
  • 5% support Sen. Kamala Harris of California.

The poll, conducted Sept. 4-8, surveyed 1.410 registered voters in Texas. The margin of error is plus or minus 5.5 percentage points.
