The majority of people who watched "The O'Reilly Factor" back Fox News' decision to fire the host over allegations that he sexually harassed women at the network, according to a new poll.

The results of a Morning Consult survey show that 60 percent of O'Reilly's viewers said canceling the long-running show was the right thing to do. Thirty percent said it was the wrong decision.

Other key findings from the poll:

  • 57 percent of O'Reilly viewers said they would follow him to another network if he is hired to work somewhere else.
  • 57 percent of people who voted for President Donald Trump said firing O'Reilly was the right decision.
  • 40 percent of Trump voters said they would not follow O'Reilly to another network, while 39 percent said they would.

A separate Morning Consult poll last week showed a growing number of Americans thought Fox should fire O'Reilly, which happened Wednesday.

O'Reilly did return on Monday after his vacation with a podcast on his website.
