An NRA-TV host blasted Vice News for its "disgustingly dishonest" story about his comment calling for Congress to pass a law restricting news coverage of school shootings.

Collins Idehen Jr., better known as Colion Noir, said in a video for NRA-TV released Thursday, "It's time to put an end to this glorification of carnage in pursuit of ratings because it's killing our kids. It's time for Congress to step up and pass legislation putting common sense limitations on the mainstream media's ability to report on these school shootings."

Vice News ran a story about the video with the headline: "NRA wants Congress to set 'limitations' on how the news can cover school shootings," and writing that "The National Rifle Association is calling for outright censorship."

About halfway through the video, Noir claims that his earlier comment was not his own position, but a hypothetical comparison to those who advocate for gun control and other firearm regulations.

"You know that feeling of anxiety that shot through your body when I said the government should pass laws to limit the media's ability to exercise their First Amendment right? That's the same feeling gun owners get when they hear people say the same thing about the Second Amendment," he says. "However, I vehemently disagree with the government infringing on the media's First Amendment's rights, the same way I don't think the government should infringe on anyone's Second Amendment rights."

"Hearing me advocate for the government's ability to limit anyone's First Amendment rights, including the media, should anger all of you watching this video, the same way it should anger you when anyone tries to use the same limitations on the Second Amendment."

Noir wrote on Twitter Thursday night that Vice did not seem to watch the entire video, although the article does quote him when he says, "I vehemently disagree with the government infringing on First Amendment rights, the same way I believe the government shouldn't infringe on second amendment rights."
