"NCIS" star Pauley Perrette was attacked by a homeless man in front of her Hollywood home on Thursday evening.
The actress detailed the horrifying assault on Twitter, writing "I almost died tonight."
Perrette said she was jumped on the street on the way to her guest house by a "very psychotic homeless man," who pinned her arm, punched her nose and forehead, and "repeatedly" threatened to kill her.
"I was alone, terrified and trapped," Perrette wrote. "There was an empty garage behind me and I knew if he got me in there I was dead."
The man ultimately told her to leave so Perrette ran off before collapsing on the sidewalk in shock. She texted two of her friends, one of whom is a police officer.
"I am shaken and traumatized," Perrette also wrote. "My life changed tonight."
The LAPD arrested the suspect -- 45-year-old David Merck -- based on a sketch Perrette provided, on suspicion of felony battery, and set his bail at $100,000. He was found at a nearby 7-Eleven convenience store and was headed towards Hollywood Blvd.
There has been no impact on the production of "NCIS" so far as Perrette was not scheduled to be on set Friday, according to CBS. Perrette plays forensic scientist Abby Sciuto on the hit show.
