Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will meet next week in Pyongyang during Pompeo's trip through Asia, the State Department announced Tuesday.

Pompeo will also make stops in China, South Korea, and Japan during his trip, which begins later this week. His most recent attempt to arrange a summit between Kim and President Donald Trump has yet to move forward.

"It shows forward progress and momentum that the Secretary is making his fourth trip back in less than a year," State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert announced. "That shows the president's commitment to the agreement that he and Chairman Kim made at the Singapore summit.”

Trump said at a press conference Wednesday that he and Kim "have a very good relationship," and said at a rally Saturday night they "fell in love" after their summit.

"I was really being tough and so was he," Trump said at the rally in West Virginia. "And we would go back and forth. And then we fell in love, OK? No really. He wrote me beautiful letters. And they're great letters. And then we fell in love."

"We have a very good relationship. He likes me, I like him, we get along," the president said Wednesday. "He wants to make a deal, and I'd like to make a deal."
