President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani refuted a report that claimed Trump confidante Michael Cohen is cooperating with federal authorities, saying there is no truth to that.
"I checked into this last night, it's not so; he's not cooperating," the former New York City mayor told Fox News. "Nor do we care, because the president did nothing wrong.
"We're very comfortable if he cooperates that there's nothing he can cooperate about with regard to President Trump."
Earlier Wednesday, it was reported Cohen — the longtime personal lawyer of Trump — is seeking a new lawyer and he is likely going to cooperate with the feds. The FBI raided Cohen's two offices, hotel room, and apartment in April in a search for documents related to hush payments he has made to women who have claimed to have had affairs with Trump over the years.
Subsequent reports suggested Cohen might also be the subject of a larger investigation involving his consulting business and payments he received from several large companies.
