House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., is in good spirits and eager to return to work.
McCarthy, in a late morning tweet on Thursday, said: "I spoke with @RepGregSteube and his wife, Jen, this morning. He is in good spirits, and our entire conference prays for a swift recovery. I informed him he will serve on the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and he is eager to get back to work."
Steube sustained injuries and was sent to the hospital after falling off a ladder at his Florida house.
His office tweeted: "Thank you to all who continue to pray for Congressman Steube. The Congressman was knocked approximately 25 feet down off a ladder while cutting tree limbs on his Sarasota property yesterday afternoon."
