Marc Benioff, a Salesforce.com co-founder, will be taking over Time magazine, according to an announcement on Sunday, and while he has previously backed Hillary Clinton, he has more recently praised President Donald Trump.

Meredith Corp. completed a purchase of Time magazine earlier this year and then on Sunday said it was selling the title for $190 million in cash to Benioff, who is one of four co-founders of cloud computing pioneer Salesforce.com, USA Today reported.

Earlier this year, Trump won support from Benioff following a speech delivered in Davos, Switzerland, where the president focused on the strength of the economy, IJR Red noted.

Taking to Twitter, Benioff praised Trump for “a very strong speech at Davos” which was “greatly enhanced by his refined economic narrative that is now amplified by the tax cuts & regulatory reforms he has put in place.”

Benioff has claimed to not belong to any particular party, but he had been vocal in his support for Clinton, for example, coming out in support of her stance on education during the presidential election..

“By five years old your destiny in this country is set,” Benioff told CNN in 2016. “That's where I am disappointed that I haven't heard more of that narrative, and I feel the one person who has delivered that discussion over and over again, including her ‘Too Small To Fail initiative,’ is Hillary Clinton, and that's why I am backing her."

Benioff also aligned himself with Clinton in opposition of Trump, claiming “if you want to defeat Donald Trump, and you’re that upset about him, then you should support Hillary Clinton, which is what I’m doing,” according to HuffPost.

Last year, however, the tech billionaire met with Trump to discuss an apprenticeship program that could create five million jobs in the U.S. over the next few years, USA Today said.

“I see a great opportunity to create millions of American jobs through such programs,” he told the news outlet.

Benioff, a longstanding advocate for equal pay for women, also discussed gender equality with Trump, along with “the ability to bring all the women into the workforce, and pay women the same as men,” he said, according to CNBC.
