Paula Duncan, a juror in the Paul Manafort trial, came to the courthouse believing special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe was a witch hunt.
Duncan, an ardent supporter of President Donald Trump, discussed the trial with NBC News on Thursday.
Despite voting to convict Manafort, Duncan is still critical of the investigation and has her doubts whether Russia interfered with the presidential election.
"I as a voter, when I went out to check my boxes I didn't see any Russian holding a gun to my head, so how could Russia have affected the campaign results," Duncan said.
But she said the evidence against Manafort was strong.
"I wanted Paul Manafort to be innocent, but he wasn't," Duncan told NBC News.
"In the end I did what we needed to be done, "I did the right thing."
In a separate interview with Fox News, Duncan had disclosed that one lone holdout on the jury stopped Mueller’s team from winning a conviction on all 18 counts against Manafort. In the end, he was found guilty on eight financial crime counts.
